I've found that the only way for me to learn to do anything is to practice. Now that I've got the basics of riding and turning, it's time to keep that saddle warm by adding new skills and work on doing things gracefully.
I've been riding as much as weather would permit this winter, and I'm taking a weekly class, as well. Now that spring is here, I'm putting in as much time as possible, from offroad trails to playing with the kids in the parking lot.
Here are the skills I want to work on this year:
- graceful freemount
- idling
- freestanding
- hopping up curbs
- riding on rolling trails
- riding over roots, stones and uneven trails
