Practice Makes Perfect #3

I've been putting in a lot of saddle time this week, and it's paid off both on street and MUni. Most of my riding has been offroad, which has been lots of fun. Overall, I'm getting more comfortable riding, my balance is improving as well as my endurance.

Street: My circus class went to a local park for some sidewalk riding, and I spent an afternoon in the plaza with my daughter on her roller blades. Working on static freemounting has seen a lot of improvement, but hopping is where I really shined! I was able to roll into and out of hopping, and can even turn around 180° while bouncing! Riding over rough brick sidewalks is becoming easy as pie, too. The 20X2.35" inch street tire at 40psi felt just right: a stable ride and turning, as well as smoothing out uneven pavement.

MUni: I rode quite a bit offroad this week, both on the Cariggi Trail and Parco Rovella. My fitness is improving rapidly, I'm keeping more weight on the saddle and also I'm much better balanced, so I'm wasting much less energy. Besides going longer, I'm doing better on the rolling ups and downs, as well as more comfortably riding over rough terrain. I'm more consistent with my freemounting, but I have a bit of work to do there. I've got the seat height dialed in pretty well, and playing around with tire pressure I've gotten the best riding with the Duro 24X3.0" at 20psi. I've put Dr. Sludge tube sealer in the inner tube, so I hope the thorns won't kill me this spring.
